Review
Established in 2006 and licensed out of the UK, PKR offers their players incredibly sophisticated 3D software and an interface that resembles a
video game more than it does a poker room. This shouldn’t come as a surprise as the founder of PKR Technologies Ltd. as well as many of its software developers came to the company with a strong background in game design.
The downside to PKR’s sophisticated 3D software is that it requires a relatively large amount of hard disk space which can be burdensome for some older computers and also computers with weaker internet connections. Thankfully, PKR has had the foresight to design a “lite” version of their software allowing people with older model computers and poor internet service to get in on the action.
Online now for 4 years, PKR is a company on the move with user numbers steadily rising; it is expected to catch up with the big online players in the not so distant future. The game selection is somewhat less than fantastic on PKR; however, a great number of amateur players are drawn to the site solely for its amazing graphics so there is great action to be found there.
The Action
As mentioned earlier, the one of a kind graphics offered by PKR tends to draw the type of player whose primary attraction is the experience. As such, you will find some great action and very soft games on PKR.
While the game selection can be considered less than astounding, their tables are very well populated and you will have no problem finding working tables. The stakes for their Limit games range from $0.05/$0.10 to $30/$60 and the stakes for their No Limit games range from $0.05/$0.10 to $25/$50 with full, shorthanded and heads-up tables available. Most of the traffic at PKR is concentrated in the tables at the $2/$4 stake level and below. The games are quite soft but with most of the action at the lower stakes, you are not going to be doing a whole lot of big game hunting there.
